Hope For The Future: Through A Royal Priesthood Sunday Morning April 17, 2011
Hope For The Future Part 2 "Kept by the Power of God" March 6, 2011: In the world today there is lots of "power" military, political, financial, as well as percevied power. and personal power. But by what power are we kept? Where do we put our faith? Do we have more faith in a light switch? a chair? the turn of a car key? than we have in God? In part two of this series we look at the Power that keeps those who are SAVED and the hope for the future we have because we are saved and kept by that power through FAITH!.
Hope For The Future Part 1 February 27, 2011: A Sermon Series From I Peter: In Part one we give consideration as to why we should study I Peter, one of those reasons being is that in many ways we are a lot like Peter. The second is, Peter failed the Lord, he fell asleep when he should have been watching with the Lord, and after a bold boast he also denied the Lord. However, we see Peter restored and we see a changed man, the lessons he learned is something we see Peter teaching us as we study I Peter.
Are You Sleeping? February 20, 2011 As a Christian are you awake and watching? or have you been lulled to sleep by the things of this world? Watching and praying are always connected to our relationship with Jesus and His return. Jesus has "asked us to watch with Him." Are you watching or sleeping?
Knock Knock February 3, 2011: This sermon started out with a series of "Knock Knock jokes" to include a few "biblical ones" I found online then the last Knock knock...who's there....Jesus....Jesus who...........
.
January 2011 "New and Better" Sermon Series: The new year started off with a sermon series titled “New and Better.” In this series we took a look at how Jesus is BETTER than the angels, a new and better covenant and doctrine, Mediator, the better sacrifice gift, priest, salvation, the new birth, a new commandment, and lastly the New Man.
Is Jesus Really Unique? We live in a time where it seems that change, compromise, or it's all the same with a different name way of thinking, teaching, and beleiving is abounding. Today there is a growing movement even within churches who call themselves "Christian" to conceded that every thing is the same but by a different name, that there are many ways to get forgiveness, to have the remission of sins and yes even to get to heaven. So that raises the question Do all roads lead to heaven? Or is there just one "Exclusive or unique" road to heaven. It does not matter what I say, but what the Bible says thats what we need to believe.
Down In The Dumps: There are times in our lives where life takes unexpected turns, our best laid plans do not go as planned, we get tangled up and feel like there is no escape as we are tossed to and from inthe midst of troubles, storms and crisis causing us to get down in the dumps. The Bible and the men and women of the Bible have a lot to teach us about being "Down In The Dumps" a place where God does not want us to be.
The Seriousness of Sin Sermon Study Notes: This is not an outline of the sermon, rather the study notes used to prepare the sermon outline. There was not enough room on the Sermon Outline Handout to include all the verses used in this message. (Sept 12, 2010) (Click the name to open a pdf of the notes)
Seriousness of Sin Sermon Outline Handout: This is the outline that was passed out at the service.
Through The Book of John: A sermon series that ran from January 2010 - June 2010. A significant portion of these outlines are missing do to losing the files on my computer. If these files are found on backup copies, then these notes will be updated.
Mothers Day Message 2010: "Priorities of a Faithful Mother" It is important to recognize Mothers on Mothers Day. But it is even more important to have GODLY mothers.
Memorial Day Message 2010: "What Is Our Memorial?" It is important that we always remember the price paid for our freedoms. It is also important to reflect on what type of memorial we are leaving behind to those who follow in our steps.
What Is Wrong With Our Churches: Today we see churches going in so many different directions, some growing, some closing, some preaching the Gospel others preaching the "gospel of prosperity." What is wrong in our churches today?
Watch and Pray: As a Pastor for over a year I have been closing most services and correspondence with the phrase "Watch and Pray." Some have wondered why does he do that, what does he mean by that. Well we were told to watch and pray and I hope in some small way this message helps explain why we are told to "Watch and Pray" and why I say it so often.
Founding Fathers: This Fathers Day 2010 message started out with a brief look back on the Founding Fathers of America. Then quickly moves forward to how important it is that each Father be a "founded father" in the Word with Christ as His foundation. It also addresses the need for fathers to be the "Founding Father" spiritually within the home.
Build Up One Another: Another semon that goes against the "grain" of today's society. We live in a dog eat dog world filled with gossip, back biting, and tearing down others. This sermon is about us building up each other, being encouragers to one another. We are not to kick our brothers and sister in Christ when they have sinned or are down, but we need to restore them, build them up!
Back To School Message: It is that time of year for kids to head back to school. For many of us Math of course was the "most favorite subject" in school. Well...maybe not. But there is one kind of math that is very easy and that is "Spiritual Math." The message "Spiritual Arithmetic" was this years back to school message. We told to "Add to things and multiply things." The only time we are to "subtract" is when sin and lusts are removed from our lives and as for "divide." Our enemy wants to divide and conquer us.
Victory Starts Here: While attending my sons graduation from Army Basic Combat Training (BCT) also known as Boot Camp or Basic Training (to us old timers), this message began to bounce around in my head. I first preached it on a Weds. night, the people there responded that you really need to preach that on a Sunday. I prayed about it and eventually did preach it on a Sunday morning.
Hell: Is a real place with real torments. Jesus spoke more on Hell than He spoke on Heaven. Some people struggle with how a God of love could send someone to Hell. First of all God is a loving God, but also a fair and just God. You see, God DOES NOT send people to Hell, they simply choose to go there themselves by rejecting God's Word and offer of Salvation through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. It is not God's will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Some folks choose not to repent, choosing to be enslaved to sin as a result God does not force them to go to Heaven or be a part of something that in life they did not want to be a part of. Hell is very serious and very real and certainly not someplace you would want to go to.
What Kind of Ground Are You: We are familiar with all types of ground and soil be it for planting flowers, crops or fighting a battle. The right ground is very important, so what kind of "ground are you?"
