For if these things be in you and abound vs 8.

But he that lacketh these things vs 9

For so an entrance shall be ministered vs 11 Give diligence

Losing Sight of Jesus Luke 2                                                      7/25/10
- Ever lose sight of something or someone?
 
Lost sight of Jesus at Church/Worship (Temple) 42-43
- They went to church with Jesus
Jesus Tarried At Temple 43
- In fast pace world we are about going, when we need to tarry
 
Lost sight of Jesus In Church 44
- Possible to go to church with Jesus but lose sight of Him before service is over
 
Lost Sight By Making Assumptions 44
-Assumed Jesus was with them.
Go Back Where You Left Jesus 45
- Not found among them so go back to where left Him
 
Long Trip Back 46
- Three days to find Him as they looked sorrowing
Jesus Went Home With Them 51



 
One Nation Under God    Ps 33:12                                                               7/4/10
- Pledge attacked because of 2 words "under God" added in 1954 
-Why the controversy? 
- Ex 19: 6 & 1 Pet.2:9
 
Maybe it is the pledge:
 
Could if be the flag?
White= purity and innocence   Ps 145:17
 
Red = hardiness and valor   John 8:36     Col 1:14   Mt 26:28
 
Blue = vigilance, perseverance, and justice    John 17:21-22
 
Under God: - Under not above or equal to God Ps 33:12
- G Washington "It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible”
 
Liberty& Justice For All: Only comes through Jesus
 
No longer a Christian Nation: - Declared at highest national levels
 Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is impossible that a nation of infidels should be a nation of free men. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. - P. Henry

Do Something With What You Have
If I won the Lottery/Million bucks: Would you?
Reality: You don't have it, so do something with what you have?
Honesty: If don't do it now with what you have would you when you have it?

So what do you have?
-Little drummer boy: Not scriptural/but good illustration
-David sling
-Moses staff
-Little boy with picnic basket of loaves and fish
-Widow smite
-Joseph Arimathea a grave
-Peter & John nothing but Jesus
 
So what do you have?
-Sing/Play          -Teach/Lead      -Fix/Build       -Hospitality/Comfort
 
What do you have to serve the church/Kingdom of God? All have something
Gifts of the Spirit (God created us/gave gifts all different)1 Corinthians 12
word of wisdom
- knowledge
 
- faith
 
- healing
 
- working of miracles
 
- prophecy; to another
 
- discerning of spirits
 
-Encouragement
 
- Prayer
 
- All one body
 
-Work together toward winning souls/discipleship/edifying saints

Review “Founding Fathers”
- Every built something?
-Christians are to Build Up:  
-Edify: Word not in use much: Bible describes it as building up ones faith
 
Several objects that should be edified

Church:
I Cor 14:3-12
 
Body of Christ: Eph 4:12-13
-Building up one another, perfecting
-Be in one accord: Unity of Believers
-Building up through knowledge, sanctification, Christlikeness
 
One Another: Rom 14:19
- Follow God Word
- Be Peacemakers/Prayer Warriors
- "Discipilers"
 
Edification Is accomplished:I Cor 10: 23
-Ministry:
-Spiritual things/gifts:
-Word of God :
-Love:
-Seeking good for one another: Rom 15:2  
-God's authority:
 
Edification is hindered: I Cor 8:1
-Carnal spirit
-Foolish questions
-Spiritual lukewarmness
-Worldly spirit

- 97% of our Nations founding fathers were Christian and valued the core principles of God’s Word.
- We need more “Founding Fathers”
 
You have seen me you have seen the Father   Jn 10:30 & 14:9
-Jesus had performed miracles, yet people did not recognize Him
-How long been with you until they see the Father in you?
What type of foundation are you building on? Lk6:48-49 & I Cor 3:10-11.
 - Founding fathers and building materials
-What kind of foundation are you giving your children?
Foundation laid by Heavenly Father I Tim 6:19   & II Tim 2:19
-Heavenly Father provides a firm foundation to build upon “The Rock”
-The family name, how is it known?
