Thank you for visiting our church website. It is my honor and privilege to serve as the pastor of Cheyenne’s First Free Will Baptist Church. Our goal and our prayer is for people to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and to faithfully serve Him by becoming actively involved in a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching, Bible-teaching church that cares for them.

We make no apology for strong preaching, sound doctrine, and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word.

 Pastor James M. Smith

About Our Pastor and his family

Pastor James Smith is originally from Ohio and his wife Tiffany from Wyoming. They met while James was stationed in Wyoming with the United States Air Force and were married in 1989. James and Tiffany have been serving in our church since 1992.

 James grew up in the Ohio River Valley the son of a Free Will Baptist Pastor and the grandson of a Methodist Pastor (that always made for interesting discussions over holiday dinners). Since Junior High School James has served in every church he has attended over the years. In 1990, James was called to preach.  While serving in Desert Storm he became recognized informally as the “Unit Chaplin.” From 1992 - 2003 James served in the Cheyenne Church as Adult Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Pastor. During that time he filled in for pastors around the Colorado District Association of Free Will Baptist and temporarily filled in for extended periods at the Free Will Baptist Church in Torrington, WY and Fort Collins, CO. James also served on two occasions as interim Pastor for the Cheyenne church. In December 2005 James was called to be the Pastor of the Cheyenne First Free Will Baptist Church.

Pastor James attended Bible College at both Hillsdale Free Will Baptist Bible College and Southeastern Free Will Baptist Bible College.
