January 16, 2012   The Need For People of Integrity

The following was found on a tattered green index card in my Dad's Bible.  As I look at all the scandals, mud slinging, and a severe lack of integrity and good role models I thought this might be a good time to share this thought:

Our world is in desperate need of models worth following.  It is in need of people of integrity whose lives inspire us to do better, to climb higher, and to stand taller.

"A tree is best measured when it is down" not until a life is "down" can we adequately measure:

1. It's Length of Significance

2. It's Breadth of Impact

3. It's Depth of Character

January 12, 2012   Don't Let Hypocrite Keep You Out of Church or in Hell

A lot of people say they do not go to church because there are "to many hypocrites in church" Did it ever occur to you that the Devil is the biggest hypocrite of all? The Devil believes in God and is even accountable to God, but yet tells man there is no God. The Devil and his demons know Jesus the Son of God is real, but will tell people not to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus as Saviour.... The Devil and his demons know the Bible (Word of God) better than a lot of Christians, but will tell you not to read it, not to believe it, not to live it. Wow talk about hypocritical! To me it seems more logical to stay away from SIN because of all the hypocrites than to stay out of church because the Devil tells you the church is full of them. Think about it. (By the way Hell will be full of hypocrites as well, but that is another story

January 11, 2012   Doing ALL that God Commanded
In Genesis 6:22 we read that "Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he." Noah did ALL that God commanded and the WAY God commanded it. God has given us so many commands throughout the Bible are we doing ALL that God has commanded? Are we doing it the WAY God has commanded or are we trying to "do it our own way," to "improve" on what God has done, doing it in a way thats "right in our own eyes." If we are going to call ourselves Christians or Children of God then need to stop trying to tell God how to do things and do it the way our Heavenly Father has told us to do it.

January 7, 2012   Punishment Is Great Than I Can Bear
Gen 4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

In 1965 in New York City, a man stabbed a woman multiple times, she lay screaming for help, no one would help, she bled out and died 45 minutes later. Today from prison the assailant complains that her suffering was for only a matter of minutes, but he claims his suffering has been a lifetime and that it is not fair.

We live in an age where we see people who do not want to take responsibility for their actions, and that it is the fault of someone else.

In the Book of Genesis we read about the first murder in human history where Cain killed his brother and tried to pass off the responsibility. When Cain was facing judgment and consequences for his actions he told God that the punishment was more than he could bear.

Before we give into temptation and sin we need to consider the consequences for our actions. Today there are many people who are living in sin and if they do not change their ways they will stand before God in judgment and the punishment in the lake of fire will certainly be more than they can stand.

No one needs to face that punishment if they will but repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Saviour.

 January 4, 2012   The Day Man Became "god"

 Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

As we read the account of the temptation of the woman in the Garden of Eden we see her adding to the Word of God, the Serpent lying and causing the woman to question or doubt the Word. Interesting here that Satan tells her nearly the same thing that lead to his fall “be as gods.” The day man ate of the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” man not only disobeyed the Word of God, but sinned against God, and become knowledgeable of what is “good and evil.” No wonder the Devil worded it “ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Interesting how the Devils lies often have a little bit of truth to them as he twist the Word of God around. Read and Study the Word of God, Know the Word of God, Use the Word of God, Never try to change or twist the Word of God.

January 3, 2012   Preparing a place for man...God goes the extra mile
We talk about God and His great work of creation. We talk about how God has prepared Heaven for the Saints and Hell for the Devil, his angels, and the unrepentant sinners. Have you ever noticed how God is always going the "extra mile" for mankind? Even though he had created such a wonderful world...God took time to go the extra mile and prepare a very special garden for man. God is always going the extra mile for us and preparing wonderful blessings for us. Just how far do we go for God? Gen 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed

December 4, 2011 Hark the Hearld Angels Sing, Angels we have Heard on High, Angels from the Realms of Glory. Join us today as we explore the Angels who came to adore the Lord, but also called on us to Come and Adore Him. See you there Sunday School 9:45 and Worship at 11!

 December 3, 2011: In a world of lonliness, despair, and rejection the Bible offers hope and encouragement.

 November 19th: Be careful what you PRAY for, you just might get it. I have heard it said many times and many ways that "God always answers prayer. Sometimes with a Yes, a No, or a Wait awhile."   To often we pray for things that are in the will of God, things that God will answer. However, we seldom give thought to the way God will answer those prayers or meet that need.

To often we pray and expect POOF "patience"  POOF "financial stability"  POOF "Love"  POOF this or that.  Without ever giving thought to the path God will lead us, or the things or experinces He may put in our path while answering our prayers.

For financial stability or responsibility God may lead us down a path or better money management through certain financial challenges.  And for patience God may put things in our path to teach us patience. As for love, God will teach us that He is to be our first love, for it is only through God do we learn what true love. When we know the love of God it is much is to share and experience love with others.

Remember God has an interesting way of giving us what we ask for and often times He gives it to us in ways that may not be the way "WE" planned or expected it. Remember God is faithful and will hear and answer the prayers of the righteous.

November 19th: Sunday morning following the service we will be taking an offering for Home Missions.  Our church was started by the Home Missions Department and by faithful people contributing, by giving of an offering to Home Missions.  This is our opportunity to meet a portion of the Great Commission by supporting others to go places that we may never get to go to.  Tomorrow, please bring an offering to give in support of spreading the Gospel throughout America and Canada.

November 18: Support  OUR Troops! We will be shipping boxes to the deployed troops from our church. We will be using "if it fits it ships box" and the cost is $12.50 per box.  A list of items will be provided during the announcements or near the box collection point.  These boxes will be available until full or Sunday night December 4th and shipped out on December 5th. More details will be provided Sunday morning during the announcements.

November 17th: Are you keeping yourself in LOVE with God?  This may sound like a really silly question, but with careful consideration it is a sobering concept that demands a self examination of ourselves and our relationship with God.

If it were not possible to "fall out of love with God," or if it were not possible to "fall in love with something or someone else other than God,"  If it were not possible to depart from our "first Love" then Jude 21 would never have been written.  But it was not only written, but was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit which means this is something for us to seriously consider.

Think about the love God demonstrated for us. How do we demonstrate our love for the Lord? To the Lord? To other Christians? Do we love the Lord just when it is good for us? Or are we keeping ourselves in love with the Lord every minute of everyday? "Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life" Jude 21

October 17th:  Be careful how you act, what you say, where you go, what you do (especially if you claim to be a Christian) that you do not cause others to sin. "Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger." I Kings 15:30

October 16th:  Quote for the day, heard this on one of the Christian Radio Programs I listen to: "A LIE is a refusal or unwillingness to face the TRUTH."

October 15th: Tuesday Tidbit: Did you know the Hebrews had threee (3) ways of looking at scripture?

1) Obvious meaning

2) Prophetic Meaning

3)Spiritual Meaning.

No wonder when we read the Bible or passage we find something new in it everytime. So thankful that God's Word NEVER grows old or boring.

September 26  Answers to the Family Night Cross Word Puzzle

Here are the answers to the Family Night Cross Word Puzzle click here

 Be sure to come back during the week to read "Pastor's Blog"

 I also just wanted to let everyone know that our "Boys" have made it to their first stop and are getting settled in.  It sounds like this first stop is going to be a interesting epxerience for them.  Please continue to keep them in your prayers.

September 25, 2011  "Praying With Our Soldiers"

Today sat in a room filled with families whose husbands, son, daughters, brothers, sisters, and fathers were getting ready to deploy. Looking in the eyes of each one you could see the anxiety about the long separation to come but at the same time you could sense the pride of each family in their soldier. We have two young men from our church in this deployment and when the Commander came into the room and announced that they would be leaving in 15 minutes, I knew now is the time. I went to our two “boys” and we took time to go and have a time of private prayer and then let them return to their families. What an honor and a true blessing it was to pray with our soldiers in those final minutes before they boarded the aircraft.

Please remember to pray for all our troops and their familes as they defend our freedoms.

September 24, 2011  "10 or 15 Percent?"

Today while at breakfast I heard a discussion about “How much someone should tip” a waiter or waitress.   It was interesting to hear the explanation of how “traditionally you tip 15% of the bill.” I have heard this discussion and debate time and time over the years, and it is always an interesting one. I also find it interesting how quickly people will defend the 15% gratuity (tip tradition) yet resist and even reject God’s way of supporting the church with 10% the tithe. Again another example of how man will do what is right in his own eyes, rather than obeying the Word of God.   It is intriguing how a person will fork out 15% of their tab to a total stranger out of tradition (often times even when the service was poor). Yet when the Word of the Living God, the one who gave His only begotten Son to die for our sins tells us to pay bring the tithe (10%) into the storehouse (Church) many resist saying that is just too much to pay. Talk about some missed up priorities.

September 11, 2011  Tomorrow

10 years ago tonight I was watching the Denver Broncos opening night in their new stadium, during that game Ed McCaffery was severely injured, I figured that would be the big news “tomorrow morning.”  Tomorrow…what a hopeful yet empty word. We hope for tomorrow, but yet it is always today. That’s why it is so very important for us to be prepared today not just for “tomorrow” but for today and for eternity.

Sunday will be the tenth anniversary of the attacks on America, there is much talk about what people will be doing to remember those who died on that terrible day. People have even asked about what I will be preaching on. Well…let me invite you to church so you can find out exactly what I will be preaching on.

September 6, 2011  Apprehnsion of being a Grandparent

Today a co-worker of mine was sharing how sometime in the next few days he will be a Grandfather. The man is concerned that he is to young and lacking experinced to be a "Grandpa."  In jest he said "I may have to get a support group going from the other grandparents here."    I can understand the excitment and apprehension about being a Grandparent.  I think rather than turning to a support group one should turn to God. The Word of God has a lot to say about being a grandparent, in fact the Bible has many examples of godly grandparents and the impact they had on their grandchildren, commmunity, and even their nation.  Join us Sunday Sept 11th at 11 a.m. for "Generations Sunday" (Grandparents Day) to hear more about this topic.

September 2, 2011  Wireless Communications

Wireless Communications..I don't get the big deal about it, after all it is not new. God has been using wireless communications for over 6,000 years.

September 1, 2011  Attention Getters!

Earthquakes, broken economy, out of control national debt, tornados, floods, destruction and no money to fix it, and much more. Pray for our nation. It seems to me that God is REALLY trying to get our nations attention, trying to get us to realize our national sins and repent and allow the LORD to be the God of our nation.

February 3, 2011   Take Out The Trash

Today is trash day in our neighborhood and as i prepare to take out the trash it got me thinking: How we need to take our sins, troubles, burdens that easily beset us and weigh us down and turn them over to the Lord and let Him cast them out. Basically, let Jesus take the trash out of our lives.

February 1, 2011 It's Cold!

In weather like this we commonly here people say "It is cold as hell out." The fact is Hell is not cold! The Bible calls it a place of flames in Luke 16. Hell is not something to laugh at, it is something to be avoided at all cost. That's exactly what God did He spare no expense in providing mankind with an escape from the bondage of sin and torments of hell.

January 31, 2011    Are you A Workman That Need Not Be Ashamed or a Lazy Servant?

During last nights youth service it was noted that out of 168 hours in a week, that most people only spend 1 hour of that with God. Friends you cannot grow in the faith and skilled in the Word on just 1 hour per week. (That is laziness, slouthfulness, slacking) Take time each day to spend in prayer, Bible study, sharing your testimony in some way, and working in the service of our King, Lord, and Saviour.

January 30, 2011 NEWS

The Newspaper = Yesterdays News Today! The Bible = Tomorrows news TODAY!!!

December 30, 2010: SOLUTIONS or RESOLUTIONS

This is the time of year where many people make New Year's resolutions to start something new, to stop doing something, to turn over a new leaf, or start fresh.

The truth is we can make all the resolutions we want, and will likely not keep most of them. What we need is a "Solution" rather than a "Resolution."

Are you struggling with something in your past near or distant? Are you wanting to get a fresh new start in 2011? Then the key is to start it out with Jesus. Then include Jesus in every aspect of your life, keeping Him from nothing.

When we completely surrender to Christ we will see a true change in our lives, we will find the solutions to life troubles through God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Do you really want to have a Happy New Year? Do you really want 2011 to be different? Do you want change in your life? Then you need to accept the "Solution"

September 23, 2010 The Sword:

A soldier is to be familiar with his primary weapon or the weapon he or she is issue. As Christians we are issued just one weapon from God Eph. 6:17 "...and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." This weapon is so strong, powerful and effective we need no other weapon. According to Heb 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

 How familiar are we with our Sword? Are we prepared with the Gospel ready to share it, teach/preach it, defend it, use it in spiritual warfare? To often Christians strap on the "ceremonial sword" and head to church. Once they have returned to their quarters, barracks..their home. The Sword comes off and is laid on a table shelf, left in a car seat or someplace else until it is time to "ceremoniously strap it on" and head to church.

If Jesus the Captain of our Salvation called us to an open ranks inspection, gave us the order to "present arms" or "Present Sword." As He inspected our "weapon" would he find it battle worn from being skillfully used in many spiritual engagements? Or would it be smooth with a shine "Ceremoniously clean" for its "next trip to church."

God gave us the Armor and the Sword with the intention of us putting on that Armor and never taking it off and taking that Sword and using it just like Jesus showed us in Matthew 4, where in a spiritual battle Jesus skillfully wielded the Sword at the enemy, show us how we ought to use the Word when we are tempted. The only way to become skilled is through daily practice, are you "practicing daily" with your Sword?

September 14, 2010 Your Adversary

According to Eph 6:10-18 you have a determined adversary (the Devil). This enemy is very determined, so be strong steadfast and immoveable. The devil is not some chubby cute, little wing, horned, pointy tail pitchfork carrying, temptation whispering cherub. No, the Devil is dangerous and hates you and wants to destroy you. The devil will buddy up to you whispering all types of self centered reasons to justify in your own eyes reasons to give into temptation. Don't give in! Resist temptation! Flee Temptation!

The devil wants you to give in because he HATES YOU..yes HATES! You see all mankind is created in the likeness of God. Therefore, when the devil sees us he is reminded of a Holy God. It is the devils goal to lure you into his rebellion against God, mock you when you sin and ultimately destroy you and take you down into hell. You have a determined, sly, deceptive adversary do not think for one minute that you have any kind of authority or power over the devil because you don't! The only authority is through Jesus, through the Word of God! When you face temptation use the battle plan Jesus gave us when He was tempted in the wilderness by the devil. Now THAT is Authority and Power! Do it the way Jesus did and we can be more than conquerors. So many people ask WWJD "What Would Jesus Do" my take is WDJD "What DID Jesus Do."

September 12, 2010 Growing Christian and His Enemy: Now That You Have Started To Grow Eph 6:10

Perhaps you have recently been saved, rededicated your life to the Lord, made a new commitment to work and serve Him, maybe you are striving to study and pray more each day, share your testimony as you mature spiritually. These are all great and wonderful things to do as we "Live Christ" daily.   In doing these things you please the Lord. However, there is someone who does not like it, you have a enemy who frowns on your spiritual growth and progress and that enemies goal is to slow you down, prevent the Word of God from taking root in your life, hinder your progress toward "higher ground."

 August 27, 2010

We can tell by looking at trees or crops and know what kind they are and know what fruit they should produce. It is not uncommon for a farmer to inspect his crops to see if they are healthy and producing properly. When we go to the store before buying a watermelon, apples, bananas and other fruits or vegetables we "inspect them."

 In Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. As Christians we are commanded to bear spiritual fruit. Fruit bearing is something that we will do because we love the Lord, not just because it is a command. What fruits are you bearing? In your life are you diligently producing: Love, Joy, Peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, virtue, knowledge, patience, godliness and brotherly kindness?

If Jesus came by today to inspect your branches would he find it bearing good fruit? bad fruit? Or no fruit at all? If Jesus came to your branches with a basket to collect fruit what kind would He be able to put in that basket? How much would He be able to take with Him? Is your fruit being multiplied or withering away?

August 26, 2010:   We're told to "pray without ceasing," that the "fervent prayers of a righteous man avails much." We are fond of prayer list and saying "I will pray for you." Jesus said we will be known by our "fruits." If your "fruits were inspected," by someone asking "When or at what hour were your praying for me?" Would you be able to answer them without hesitation? Without making things up? Would they know from your fruits that you have been in fervent prayer for them?Don't think it odd that someone might ask at what hour were you praying for me, I have heard stories from missionaries and experienced events in my own life that caused me to ask if or when someone may have been praying for me. It is not unusual to find that at times when taking place in my life to find that someone somewhere wa praying for me during that very hour. If we tell someone we are going to pray for them, then be sure to pray for them often and fervently. In fact, one of the best practices is when someone says "will you pray for me" take time to tell them "I will, and why don't we pray about that right now." Take a few moments to lift up a prayer with them and for them.

August 25, 2010:

How many give earnest heed to the things we hear from the Word of God? Or do we let them slip? When we hear the Bible read or take time to read it ourselves we are getting a message (even a "text" message) directly from God. When we let the things of God slip, we start neglecting so great a salvation

August 23, 2010: Reading the Book of Hebrews (2: 1-4) with 1 and 3 being the ones jumping off the page at me tonight. Makes me wondering how many are "Playing Church" like children play pretend. They come to church sing the songs, say speak the church lingo and then go home, never once reading their Bible, praying, reflecting (with friends/family) on the sermon or Sunday school lesson.

 How many give earnest heed to the things we hear from the Word of God? Or do we let them slip? When we hear the Bible read or take time to read it ourselves we are getting a message (even a "text" message) directly from God. When we let the things of God slip, we start neglecting so great a salvation

August 9 2010: I Will Just Quit

I have taught a class for many years;

Borne many burdens-toiled through tears;

But folks don't notice me a bit.

I'm so discouraged-I'll just quit!

Sometime ago I joined the choir;

That many souls I might inspire;

But folks don't seem moved a bit

So what use to sing? I'll just quit!

I've labored long in women's work;

and not a task did I ever shirk;

But folks have talked a little bit;

And I won't stand it, I'll just quit!

I've led young people day and night;

and sacrificed to lead them right.

But folks won't help me out a bit;

And I'm so tired, I'll just quit!

Christ's cause is hindered everywhere;

And folks are dying in despair;

The reason why? Just list a bit;

The church is full of folks who just quit!

This timely poem is over 40 years and old was found in stacks of passed down books and hand written notes.

August 8, 2010: Coincidence or Disturbing fact: Divorce is up 30% since Facebook became so popular. People meet and catch up and then connect or go off to other areas to chat and eventually hook up and this negatively impacts relationships and marriages

August 6, 2010: "Oh my God!" Think about the frivolous court battle over "God" on our money, in our pledge and prayers. They attack God in these areas, yet most TV/Game how's, movies, even news use the phrase "Oh my God" a clear reference to God. When was the last time you the "anti-God" movement take Hollywood to court over the constant references to God. I know the real reason, but this is Just something for you to think about

August 5, 2010: Weds ngt we looked at Acceptable Attitudes in worship found in the 10 Commandments of Ex 20. On way to be accepted is to be reconciled to God, to our brothers and sisters in Christ and without fellowman. In II Cor 5:18-20 we see that is something we are commanded to be reconciled. Is there someone you need to forgive or be reconciled to? Jesus reconciled us to God let us also be reconciled with one another.

August 3, 2010: Onward Christian Soldiers lyric "at the sign of victory Satan's host flee" Perhaps we miss an important message in 3rd vs. "We are not divided, all one body we, one in hope and doctrine, one in charity." If there is any division among ourselves, Satan attacks there and exploits that division to make the divide greater.... August 2, 2010: According to Romans 1:28-29 mankind makes a individual decision to like or dislike the wisdom, knowledge, commands and Word of God. Today what decisions did you make? Did you chose to walk in the pathways of righteousness or did you take pleasure in sin, and living in disobedience and rebellion against the Creator the Living God?

June 27, 2010 Great services today, had an awesome spirit among the folks in attendance, had a few out at work, sick and traveling, as for the rest.simply unaccounted for.   Today we spent time talking about edifying one another and building up the body of Christ.

June 20, 2010 Father's Day: We had good services today as we honored those fathers in attendance and took time to honor those fathers who are no longer with us, and of course we honored our Everlasting Heavenly Father. It was good to be in the house of the Lord today. If you were not there, we certainly missed you.
